He further said Meta will work on making these AI features available to people. The CEO said the company brings technology to people in a unique way. Zuckerberg is certainly passionate about AI, as Meta announced that employees now have access to multiple generative AI tools. The aim is to allow them to develop prototypes while the company hosts hackathons to showcase his AI projects.

Meta CEO’s plans include introducing AI text, image and video generation capabilities into flagship products such as Facebook and Instagram. This development will allow Instagram users to modify their photos via text prompts and share them through the Stories feature. Meanwhile, Coinspeaker reported Wednesday that Meta-owned Instagram was reportedly working on an AI chatbot. The issue was brought to light by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, who shared several screenshots suggesting the social media app is about to unveil an AI chatbot.

Mehta also referenced recent job cuts at the same event and talked about “groundbreaking advances” the company has seen in AI. The tech giant began further layoffs in late May. The new decision means that an additional 6,000 employees will lose their jobs, in addition to the more than 20,000 job cuts since November. Other layoffs focused on engineering and recruiting teams, or new hires in business units.
