Vroomway is Decentraland’s Play-to-Earn racing game developed as a result of a Decentraland DAO grant. The project offers an immersive experience where gamers can play racing games, collect and build vehicles, and interact with other racing enthusiasts.

Aside from its distinctive purple and orange hues, the game stands out for its broad appeal (race cars, engines, passion for motorsport) and its premise to unite the metaverse. Bloomway is According to founder Nikki Fuegois the first racing project to combine wearables and other NFTs, creating a new space for vehicle and automotive fanatics within the metaverse. The gaming experience also aims to serve as a place where everyone is welcome. First submitted in April 2022, the proposal requires all players to contribute to fostering a safe space where all gamers can be themselves, right from the game’s terms of service displayed at the main entrance. Subsidies and game sustainability

As part of its mission to create a complete experience with vehicle-related adventures and opportunities to interact with all racers, Vroomway has a front door where, in Nikki Fuego’s words, “everyone can hang out.” . A user can play as long as she has FUEL that is recharged daily and is not cumulative. Players earn a set amount of her FUEL every 24 hours, but can easily purchase more within the platform or receive them as rewards. For example, the Social Corner has parties where gamers can dance with other players and her NPCs to earn her FUEL, further reinforcing her Vroomway mission of establishing social opportunities within the platform. By making dancing a means to earn her FUEL, the team at Vroomway hopes to empower players to join the party, meet and hang out with other gamers. In this way, users are not only enjoying the gaming experience, but also getting a social experience.

The first game mode released in the game was Solo Sprint. This is a 4-5 storey spiral track that starts at the bottom and rises to the top. The course focuses on speed, has various obstacles such as moving walls and platforms, and works with a reward-based system. The faster you complete the course, the more rewards you get. The fastest racers will also be rewarded with their name appearing on the site’s leaderboard.

Vroomway requires energy (FUEL) to do everything. Harvest barrels, collect materials in races, and use those materials to craft vehicles. Then work your way up and upgrade the item to its highest version. The more you play, the more perks and rewards you unlock. This relates to how Nikki Fuego and her team keep players coming back to the platform for continued engagement. Originally, FUEL was cumulative (if a gamer didn’t play for a few days, when they returned to the platform, there would be a lot of fuel added).

According to Fuego, this meant that players spent a lot of time in a single instance on the platform and got burned out. To address this issue, Vroomway introduced his new FUEL system, in which he refuels every 24 hours and is awarded in proportion to the previous day’s consumption. As Nikki Fuego stated, the sustainability of the game of experience should lead to both sustainability of the grant and autonomous growth after the grant period ends.

Vroomway Process and Next Steps

The Decentraland DAO has awarded Vroomway a grant, and the vehicle-oriented platform is highly detailed. half year plan, from June to November 2022. A precise budget breakdown prescribes the steps we take each month to bring the project to life, and we have three major releases. The grand opening of the game has just started and all game modes are live. In a demo derby, a player “with a derby car faces off in his PVP instance consisting of 5-10 players”. Fuego Circuits is a “group PVP (everyone on their own) experience” that integrates elements of the first release (Solo Sprint).

In the future, Nikki Fuego, CEO of Vroomway, wants to host “a first-of-its-kind tournament with never-before-seen prizes” every two months. Additionally, the team behind Vroomway foresees opportunities for her cross-platform collaborations with other games within Decentraland. Vroomway’s story is more than just a racing game. As the vehicle itself is his NFT, when a player races, they will eventually compete to own another of his NFT vehicles in-game. These are assets that have off-track value and future utility as the project evolves.
