Coinbase spent $3.4M on lobbying in 2022, while FTX spent $720k

According to a recent report by Money Mongers, Coinbase ranked second with $3.4 million spent on lobbying in 2022, while Binance US and FTX US ranked 9th and 13th respectively.

According to Money Mongers, the exchange’s lobbying spending in 2022 is up 122% from $1.52 million in 2021. report.

Binance US increased its lobbying budget by 500%, saving $960,000 in 2022 compared to $160,000 in 2021. This brings Binance US to 9th place in our rankings. Meanwhile, FTX.US ranks his 15th, spending $720,000 on lobbying in 2022, a 1340% increase from his $160,000 in 2021.

Lobbying since 2017

Blockchain Association and Robinhood saved $1.9 million and $1.8 million respectively in 2022, making them the second and third largest spenders on lobbying after Coinbase.

Coinbase, Blockchain Association, and Robinhood also ranked among the top five lobbying spenders since 2017, saving $5.59 million, $3.9 million, and $3.89 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, CME Group maintains its leadership by spending more than $8.26 million on lobbying over the past six years. Binance US and FTX US have budgeted for lobbying in 2021 and 2022, taking 10th and 15th place respectively in the rankings.
