Bitcoin wallet dormant for 10 years suddenly wakes up

Dormant Wallet Awakens, Moves 279 BTC

According to the on-chain details share A BTC wallet that has been dormant for over 10 years has been revived by cryptocurrency account Whale Alert. Satoshi’s era wallet reportedly contains his 1,128 bitcoins worth about $31.6 million.

And the dormant wallet has seen some quick movements, with 279 BTC of assets moved to three new addresses in the last 24 hours. On-chain smart money platform Lookonchain murmured:

“The 1,128 $BTC ($31.6M) whale has been dormant for 10 years and has just transferred 279 $BTC ($7.8M) to 3 new addresses. I received $1,128 in BTC for the month at $12 and $195.”

Bitcoin price hits all-time high of $69,000 in November 2021. So the wallet would have been even richer had it been enabled at that time.
